Accomplishments as Councilman for District 6

  • Increased public safety for our schools, neighborhoods and entertainment district;
  • Expanded fire protection which in the long run may reduce insurance premiums;
  • Created the “NO SMOKING” medical mile around MUSC and Roper Hospitals;
  • Renamed Westchester Park to Thomas Johnson Park; drainage improvement projects;
  • Completed phase 1 of upgrades to Ferguson Village Park;
  • Converted Coming and St. Philip Streets to two-way
  • Supported  pilot program to minimize nuisances which may be caused by skate boarders;
  • Improved recreation and park facilities; and protected quality of life through zoning.
  • Neighborhood signage for East Oak Forrest, Ashleyville/Maryville
  • Identified funding source for Ashleyville/Maryville neighbor hood signage
  • Driveway Repairs for East Oak Forrest
  • Served on the selection committee  for the architect of record for the Gilliard Center
  • Served on the selection committee for the construction manager for the Gillard center
  • Served on the selection committee for contractor for the Horizon project a proposed square feet mixed use billion dollar development
  • Served on Sustainability selection committee
  • Funding for drainage repair Wagner Terrace
  • Supported land acquisition  for conservation  in East Oak Forrest
  • Naming of Higgins Pier in Ashleyville/Maryville and secured funding for feasibility study
  • Reestablish Gadsden Green Resident Association
  • Assisted the formalizing the Bristol Homeowners Association with City
  • Introduced legislation to televise City Council Meeting
  • Introduced a  Resolution in Support of Offshore Wind Energy Development
  • Naming of the Crosstown to the Septima Clark Parkway

  • Elected Mayor Pro Tem
  • Introduce a Resolution to End Homeless
  • Established a committee redevelopment development plan for the Westside neighborhood

  • Worked with Operation Home a nonprofit to provide resource for emergency repair of elderly

  • Participated In MUSC's national conferences for health disparity in Philadelphia and Charleston South Carolina
  • Conducted Town 2 Housing Forum Town Hall Meetings on James island
  • Resources for Improvements to Stoney Field track
  • Resources identified for construction of Baseball field for Harmon Field
